I haven't had a reason to use a chainsaw in many years, but I lost a number of trees during the Texas Snowmaggedon this year and decided to buy one. I remembered what a pain it was to start my father-in-law's chainsaw back in the day and decided to look at cordless. I already have the blower and string trimmer and am very happy with them, so I bought the EGO 16". I wasn't disappointed. I haven't cut anything real big, but I can tell you it cuts through 4-5 inch limbs like a hot knife through butter. I highly recommend it.

So excited about this chainsaw, I've done a ton of yard cleanup already and have been happy with the battery life.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because the chain jumped off for some reason while cutting some brush. That said, I was amazed how easy it was to disassemble and put the chain back on! No tools required and simple diagrams embedded in the saw to show you which way the chain goes! I've already cut up 4 trees with this saw in the first week and I'm impressed how much power this thing has.

For personal use (comparing to pulling my arm off trying to start my gas chain saw) battery power makes way more sense.
The 5Ah battery last longer than me. I thought I may need a second battery but so far I don't think I will.
I have worked in oil and gas my whole career and always thought If the use of batteries become practical then it is time to switch. In this instance they have.
I am considering the ZTR mower (if the price point fits) and perhaps use the 10Ah batteries with the two stage snowblower.

I've had the saw for about a month now and taken down all of one 12" tree and parts of another pine tree. Both times the saw was trouble-free. Pros: Interchangeable batteries (love that the batteries fit mower and saw), very quiet compared to gas saws, no kickbacks. Cons: Had to fuss a little with the tension wheel, but other than that nothing specific. Don't expect this saw to have the torque of a gas saw if you get it stuck. If you're just doing some routine trimming around your house this certainly gets the job done.
