Very Capable for Dry Clippings, Leaves

Initial review: I am an in-shape almost 70 year old male with a 1 acre lot with an entire yard of Bermuda grass with a long driveway & sidewalks.Pull-starting all my blowers, edgers & string trimmers was getting to be more of a battle every year. After working for three hours with all this equipment took its toll in these hottest days of summer. All my other gas equipment has a quick start or EZ Start pull cable, no blowers do. These, for some reason seemed to be the most finicky to start. I do not have the stamina I used to have & blowing was the last of the chores to complete the yard work .This blower is adequately equipped to blow the dry grass & leaves off the concrete surfaces & the equipment. My first full charge use completed the job with two of the five bars gone. A good start. I love the weight, the quiet motor versus the gas version & the mess of yet another 2 cycle engine.I have the 7.5ah battery with the “standard” charger so to bring from “0” to full charge is 2hrs- 45minutes. Not a problem for me since a heavy load day would I estimate use half a charge but I will update my review as my use goes along.

    EGO backpack blower

Easy to use. Very quiet. Battery lasts a very long time. My twelve year old son really loves his ego. Bought the 21” self propelled lawn mower at the same time. The chores are done in half the time and his pay is the same. What’s not to love.

Works almost as good as a gas blower

I bought this for my wife since she was unable to start our gas backpack blowers. This blower is lightweight even with the battery and is easy on her back. She use to blow for about an hour with a full tank of gas. This blower blows as good as the gas blower on the top two power levels. But, she can only blow for about a half hour on a fully charged battery. She could get two hours on the lowest setting, but you essentially have a sweeper at that setting. All in all, it's a very good product. You may want to invest in a second battery. To be fair, we live in the middle of a woods and have about two acres to blow. But it does the job.

Solid Performance - Comparable to gas units

I live on about an acre of wooded land and each fall blowing leaves becomes a full time job. I have tried just about every gas and battery blower over the past two years trying to come up with a good solution for my leaf problem. Two years ago I purchased a Ryobi backpack blower which was rated very high in Consumer’s Report. It is rated at 510 CFM and 185 MPH. It does a very good job last but you have to put up with the noise, exhaust, and heat from the unit. I was very excited this year when EGO came out with the hand held 530 CFM blower and I purchased it along with EGO’s new 21 self-propelled mower. Even though the handheld blower is rated at only 110 MPH the unit works very well on “turbo mode” moving just about anything. While this unit is convenient the run time the 2.5 AH battery performance is not as long as what I need for the amount of leaves we receive. Once the new EGO 600 CFM backpack blower hit the market I thought this was finally the holy grail of blowers but was probably too good to be true. I decided to purchase the new unit and compare it to the other two blowers that I currently own. The testing consisted of using all three blowers for 30 minutes in the woods and comparing how much material they moved.

    Glad I bought it

I have been looking for something like this for awhile. So far I have used it for about six batteries worth. Little assembling required. A fully charged battery lasts about 35 minutes with full trigger use but no turbo use. I use it to blow leaves on grass. Very comfortable to wear and use even though I am left-handed and the hose is on the right. My right arm never tires. It does feel a little heavy but that hasn't slowed me down. My only negative is putting it on. For me, lifting it up and getting the shoulder straps in place requires some effort. I should look for a bench to rest it on - that should make it easier to slip into.
