    small lawn. Very powerful

Arrived defective (flashing yellow light), returns IMPOSSIBLE. Buy this one locally.

Imagine a warm, dry spell at 9 in the morning. A perfect time to mow the lawn. Unfortunately, your brand new EGO mower decides it doesn't want to cut any more than a a couple centimeters off the top of your perfectly flat lawn. But why? It's a brand new mower (though it didn't come with a manual for some reason), the battery is fully charged and has no issues whatsoever. There's nothing stuck underneath the deck. What gives?Since day one, this mower will immediately cut off upon entering the grass if the height setting is left on 1 or 2, and frequently while set to 3 (there are seven adjustments, higher number = taller cut). Meaning: there are reliably only four height settings I can use on my flat lawn with already-short grass on it. It makes mowing almost pointless. Because the moment it encounters the tiniest resistance, the motor stops and that horrible light starts blinking. I initially inspected blade and checked the torque of the nut holding it in place, good grief is it torqued TIGHT! But I don't think that's the direct cause, seeing as how the blade spins freely regardless but instead others across the internet suspect it could be a damaged bearing (possibly due to the insane installation torque?) Others have reported pinched wires causing intermittent stops across multiple mowers in EGO's lineup, but that's not pertinent to my exact issue. The point I'm making is that while your mower may arrive brand new, if there are any faults on this particular +charger/battery combo, you've got a headache in store. Because guess what? The battery 7.5 watt hour battery that comes included with this invalidates it from being returnable due to hazardous materials handling regulations. This caught EGO support by surprise (and obviously, me as well) because the majority of their products don't include such large capacities, I think. Check any other EGO product including a 5.0 WH battery or smaller and 30-day returns should not be a problem. I had no reason to suspect this slightly larger battery would add so much extra grief, and given the number of other users uploading similar issues online through various sources, despite support claiming this issue is uncommon, I have to strongly disagree, and therefore strongly encourage you to AVOID this particular purchase on Amazon.Mind you, I do not blame Amazon for not ignoring regulatory policy, at all. EGO support on the other hand, recently followed up on my latest case claiming, and I quote: "That's Amazon policy not allowing you to shipped back LM2125SP EGO has nothing to do with Amazon policy LM2125SP has no warranty coverage."???I had reiterated multiple times that Amazon's refusal to accept the item's return was GOVERNMENT POLICY, not corporate. The communication I've received from EGO support has repeatedly suggested leaning on Amazon to make things right, rather than they themselves arrange for a pickup to a nearby service center or something. I hated doing this, and I had no choice, yet Amazon went above and beyond where the manufacturer failed to properly support a repeat customer's expensive purchase. The only reason I haven't one-starred this product is because I've had no issue with the numerous other EGO products I own and they operate extremely well. But this experience was a nightmare and the fact that this flashing yellow light issue has been around for well over a year now across other mowers, and that despite thorough troubleshooting have no clue what's causing it, is extremely disappointing.Maybe this issue truly isn't that common and I just got super unlucky. But I'd seriously refrain from purchasing any of EGO's mowers online because of how annoying it is to send back, and if you do, definitely DO NOT purchase this model and verify the return policy on the EGO product you're buying so you don't make the same mistake I did.

    Ok for a small lawn

Pros -Great battery lifeSolid constructionEasy to raise/lower the deckCons -Tiny bag for clippingsPoor suction for the clippingsTerrible mulching capabilityJerky drive motionI have a medium size lawn in the Pacific NW (1500 sq ft) - replacing an old craftsman front drive gas mower. My old mower did a much better job getting the clippings in the bag, or mulching them - Some of the reviews mention getting better results with the mulching blade - why wouldn't they just ship it with the one that works? The self-propel feature works OK, but the belt drive on my old mower was more like a clutch, this is more like a switch - I'm getting used to it after a few months, but I like the drive on the old mower better. The bag for clippings is really small, I have to empty it just about every lap if the grass is a little long, my old mower could bag several laps.

    Plastic deck?

I have given my review 4 stars ⭐️ because the engineering is basically very good. Easy to use, battery is sufficient (except when mowing heavy grass) like the features that it offers with the exception of one. The plastic deck, poly carbonate, or otherwise, I don’t think it’s the best thing for a mower deck. Also, the shaft, which holds the blade on the bottom looks fairly thin, compared to a regular engine mower. And short, this mower would be great for a normally well-kept lawn. (without lots of debris in the grass like rocks or toys or anything else). If you have a rough lawn one like out in the country or somewhere where there are lots of toys or other debris that can hit the blade, I feel that it would only be a matter of time that the shaft would be knocked out of alignment. Also, the pinging I hear when something in the lawn hits the deck , no matter how small it is, concerns me. I see there are other models made by ego that have an aluminum deck, and if I had to do it all over again, I would probably get one of those. However, so far it has been an efficient machine, well engineered, good features, and plenty of power to mow the lawn. I’ve had the lawnmower a couple of months now. So far so good.Follow up:Haven’t had the machine now for a full mowing season, I have to say it’s been a pleasure to use over the gas versions I was using. Lighter, more efficient, bagging works well or even heavy grass if you take your time and dump them more often. Now that I have learned to use the machine with this little ins and outs, I’ve learned that the self propel mechanism being an electric motor is best when used as to start the momentum of the machine when in tight spots or an incline, then push the machine yourself so that the mechanism doesn’t jump as it sometimes will when you engage and disengage the self propelled motor. In all, I would give it a thumbs up for the season.

    Exceeds Expectations

I was hesitant to replace my gas mower because: 1) would an electric mower last one hour, 2) would it easily handle grass lengths two weeks between cuts, and 3) since its deck is plastic, would it be less durable. My EGO Power+ LM2125SP has exceeded my expectations with all three concerns. After an hour of mowing I still have two of five cells showing on the battery indicator. It easily handles longer grass and raising or lowering the cutting height is so much easier - one lever - than adjusting individual wheels. The deck cleans easily with a brush and I haven't seen any wear or tear on it. Starting is easy and of course there are no fumes or fuels to breathe in. It was louder than I expected but still much quieter than a gas mower. There is a learning curve to the self-propelled mechanism - just let go a few inches before you reach your target, otherwise the drive gear remains engaged and you may have a slight delay before you can pull the mower backwards. Delivery was great, the the double-wall corrugated box was strong enough to protect everything inside during transport. If you want to mulch, there is nothing to assemble, as the plug is pre-installed. A grass bag is included but I haven't needed it as the mulching has been terrific with minimal to no signs of clumping between cuts. The battery charges in less than an hour and you are ready to go. I'm glad I made the change to electric and would not go back to gas again.
