EGO Power+ ST1500SF 15" 56-Volt Cordless String Trimmer with Rapid Reload (Battery and Charger Not Included)

Trims well. I've gotten 45 minutes of continuous use on 1 charge. The trimmer is a bit heavy, if you're 5'11" and 160 like me you'll feel it in your arms & shoulders.

I bought this trimmer when my last cordless one's batteries decided to die. Also, my yard is a little bit over a half acre so I wanted a best in class trimmer. Consumer Reports really liked this model so I went for it. When this trimmer is performing correctly it is perfection. It cuts as well as gas powered trimmers that I have owned. On the downside, sometimes getting the string to advance is a royal pain. You definitely can tell when it does though. The final negative is that it is kind of heavy and hard to maneuver for me. It might be because I am 5'7", but it seems like a strap would alleviate some of that problem. I assume some lame legal liability concerns have left it off as a feature. Recommended.

After struggling the past two summer seasons with the performance of this tool, I purchased a new head and hoped for the best. But, once again I encounter nothing but frustration in using this trimmer. The string breaks constantly, requiring reload about every 3-4 minutes while trimming. And then sometimes the head will work to auto-reload and sometimes not. When it does not, then I have to manually take off the head, pull out the string and reload it. This happens every single time I try to use this trimmer. The best thing I can say about it, the battery well

Great trimmer. It's well constructed and easy to use. I like the bump line feed mechanism. The battery charges fast and lasts plenty of time for to trim my yard. One thing I appreciate in particular is I can charge the battery right after unsung the trimmer. A battery operated trimmer I had in the past required a cool down period before this was possible. My only knock on this trimmer is I wish it was a little more powerful. I can still do everything I need, but having slightly more power would allow me to do it a little faster.

This is my second EGO string trimmer. My first one was 5 years old and never had any problems. The battery finally died, which was not unexpected. The battery is warranted for 5 years residential use. It just made more sense to buy a new trimmer including the new battery. Have not reloaded the rapid reload trimmer head yet but looking forward to the simpler task, even though the old manual reload was not difficult. If you have any doubts, count on EGO to be a quality built, highly reliable tool and buy it. You won't be disappointed.
