    Nice little machine

I purchased this to replace a similarly sized ICE machine. It worked fine, but wanted to make this last jump to electric. I already had an EGO mower and was happy so I went with this. My driveway is modest and can only hold for cars. On a full charge of the 2 batteries, I was able to clear about 3 times with probably a total of 18 inches across the 3 jobs (within about a week). The batteries that came with it were different than my existing ones, which have a segmented display giving a handy indicator of remaining charge. These simply have green until red as a low battery warning. It is much quieter than the ICE and I am overall very happy with the purchase for my situation. It was just as powerful as my other one that also couldn't handle the snowplow dam at the base of the driveway.

Works fine, but limited power compared to cheaper 2-stroke gas options.

I like this snowblower, but at MSRP it's definitely an overpay. It's good for moderate snow days, is tough to push through heavy 12" days, and is noticeably weaker than a small, cheap (but loud and stinky) 2-stroke that you can buy used for $200. For comparison, I have an old Toro CCR 2450.Good: electric is convenient and low-maintenance. Batteries last over an hour, and fully charge in 1-2 hours each. Convenient chute direction control from the handle. Throws snow a good distance. Cleans thoroughly down to bare pavement. Quiet enough so earplugs aren't necessary. Easy to start. Has headlights. Easily folds down smaller for storage.Bad: Power is slightly outclassed by a smaller, cheaper 2-stroke. Harder to push - while the built in scraper bar is really effective at clearing the concrete, it provides a lot of resistance and friction. You're not going to push it uphill in snow, and it WHAMS to a stop every time you hit something a quarter inch above level ground. It also seems like the paddles are small - you have to really "push into" the mound of snow before it'll catch and throw it.So I'm a little disappointed, but I'll keep it and sell my 2-stroke because I'm tired of wearing earplugs and getting stinky from exhaust. The Ego is a little more reliable, and having chute control on the handle is great. But I'll miss how the 2-stroke is a little easier to push through the crud on heavy days.

Cheaply put together Snowblower from China. Buy a Gas Powered Snowblower instead!

Don't waste your money on this POS! Day 1 Snowblower arrives FEDEx. I take it out of the box and plastic parts start hitting the ground. Most these parts were for the wheels, and also the battery charger had one of the four metal fins bent backwards. The pic shows it after i got a pair of pliers and straightened it out. Then I had to go register the warranty information to make a claim, so they sent me out some of the parts that went on the wheel, but didn't send me the part that broke in half you can see in the pics above. So, now I have to call them back to get the one part they forgot to send. Now, the snowblower itself I got to use once so far. It is useless on wet slushy snow we get here in the mountains of Colorado and just ended up pushing the snow like a plow. On the colder crisper snow on the north side of my house it did do alot better. I have a big honking gas powered snowblower that makes this one look like a broom sweeper, but I mainly use that on for the big heavy, deeper snow. I wanted this Ego, for just doing the front of the house and in front of the garage. i'm sure the light fluffy snow this Snowblower would work okay. The other thing, is. This has a paddle like auger that does not cut through snow like a metal auger with blades on it. Not worth the money you have to spend even though I got a deal of $499 on this snowblower which the batteries alone would have cost if you bought them alone. My overall opinion.Follow Up! I have to say the customer service for Ego was good at sending me the Warranty Parts I needed to fix my SnowBlower. So, I will add one more Star for that.

    Doesn't throw 35' - more like 3.5'

Used this in last 3 winters in Montana. It "works," but buyer beware:1) don't count on it throwing 35'. Move the decimal. It MAYBE throws snow 3.5 feet on a good day. Rocks? Sure, they'll go 35'2) go find 7.5a batteries. It's under-powered with 5a batts, and if your driveway is more than 10' long, it'll take you all day to clear it3) if you are over 5'8" tall, you should find a different model with a telescoping handle... Or a good chiropractor4) buy soare parts. I've replaced the auger paddles twice, the full auger once, and needed a new scraper blade for each season (actually 2 this year)Disclaimer: I have a gravel driveway, and this model doesn't have rock skids like the bigger ones do. Likely to drop the $1,500+ on a gas-powered model after this winter, as I have beaten the living s**t out of the Ego blower. Otherwise, decent construction, intuitive engineering made replacing parts easy. Ego products are generally awesome. I burned out a chainsaw after felling and blocking probably 25 trees, shorted out a leaf-blower after 4 years of use, and have run miles of string through the weedeater. Haven't used the mower, but I'm sure it's good, too.

Can Only Handle Very Light Snowfall and is Overhyped

This is the first negative review of a product I've written in 10 years or more on Amazon. And I love EGO products---I have the lawn mower and leaf blower, both are fantastic. Unfortunately, this snow blower is not. It will work for you if you have light and/or powdery snow, up to 4 or 5 inches. If you have three inches or less of wet snow, it will blow it---but only about 3-5 feet to the side, and after a lot of effort on your part, to the point where you're wondering whether you should just shovel. But the thing that pushed me to leave a negative review is the "Blows 35 feet" sticker on the chute, which you have to stare at as this thing putters along and, if outside the range I discussed above, chokes and sputters and plops a glob of snow a few feet to the side. EGO makes some great products, but this snow blower is not one of them.
