I have been waiting for 3 months now and Ego still has not replaced the power head. They told me they are out of stock even though I see them here, on Amazon. Note, Ego is not selling them directly here, apparently.

This unit has power and has good run time. But the string loading head is problematic. I find myself constantly having to open the head, pull the string out and reload it. Bump start feature just doesn’t seem to work well. It started even with the factory loaded string. I’m serious looking into returning this. It would be better if I were sent a different head Without having to return the whole unit. I’m really frustrated with this product. It has so much promise but having to constantly stop and reload the string is not good at all.I have the ego lawnmower and the blower and I’m very satisfied with those products but this string trimmer just doesn’t do it for me. I have less problems with the head on my old gas model than I have with this.In the videos I see people grab the head by the two tabs and just pull it out with one hand. That’s impossible with this model or rather the unit I have.And what makes matters worse is I was so confident in these products having the lawnmower and the blower before this one I prematurely through the boxes out so I would need a new box sent just to replace this trimmer. Very frustrating very frustratingEdit: I’ve since returned this unit and was sent a new one. This one works perfectly. Seems something was wrong with the other one. The head is still tough to remove but being this unit loads string like it’s supposed to you should rarely have to remove it.
