I thought this would make a good addition to the EGO tools that I have accumulated, especially since I have several batteries. I should have done better research but the lack of pass through charging was a total surprise. Pass through charging is a must for my purposes meaning that I now have a $900 four position very slow battery charger that takes up a lot of space. For the price I was also surprised that it has not 12VDC support and it does not come with solar capabilities. That requires an extra adapter.There does seem to be quality in the build and I really liked the idea of not having hundreds of dollars in batteries sitting idle most of the time. My EGO mower, chainsaw, trimmer, edger, hedge trimmer, pole saw and blower all work great. I was anxious to get the Nexus Portable Power Station due to my experience with other EGO tools over the past eight years. But I find the lack of features that are readily available on other solar generators in the price range, very disappointing.

3 outlets and 4 USB outlets is suitable. Brought it camping and was able to get a days work done on laptop and external monitor, and get TV on for about 10 hrs before 3 7.5 ah and a 5ah battery died. I was expecting longer results. The Bluetooth doesn't work, nothing in manual, and multiple calls/emails to support direct to a 5 year old app that's really useless. Charging batteries on this is a joke. It takes 3:40 to charge one 7.5ah battery. With the smaller charger it takes little less than an hour. So now you have to pack the other chargers rather than use this as charger. Returned the solar panel since you can't use the device and charge at the same time.

This is a sturdy unit that is a good purchase if you already own other EGO tools.As a general UPS is works acceptably. Display is informative and easy to read.The unit supposedly has bluetooth connectivity for monitoring via smartphone. I have tested both the iPhone and Android app, neither works.
