EGO SNT2405 24" Self-Propelled 2-Stage Snow Thrower with (2) 7.5AH Batteries and Rapid Charger

Powered right through the snowbanks from the plows, put my gas blower to shame and I was sick of getting the recoil pullstring fixed each first snowfall the push to start is great. It's been a while since I've yearned for the first snowfall, but this year WE ARE READY. What a thrill to receive and (easily) assemble this beautiful machine. Takes two to lift the box (heavy!), but other than that, it's a breeze to unpack, assemble and prep for another Minnesota winter. Was impressed with how little there was to do for set up. . .even the batteries still had juice in them for a quick "dry" run. Love the power pack and charger. Compact and easily fits on shelf in garage. And have been already using the 56V 7.5AH batteries to power our EGO blower for Fall clean-up. We'll be checking the forecast daily. . .bring it on Mother Nature!

We decided on this unit to be prepared for our first snow season in Northern Colorado. Although moving from the North Shore of Chicago, our new CO neighbors have suggested that snowfall can often come with 7+ inches at a time. As an all-female house, I need to be certain that my daughters will be able to have the driveway cleared so that they can get to school. When I mentioned the EGO snowblower as a possible option, my new neighbors assured me that I was making a good choice. The unit was delivered by a reputable freight company who wheeled the unit into my garage due to the 266lb weight tag. Driver also removed the unit from the wood pallet so I could unbox in my garage. Well-packaged and easy to maneuver to a clear spot by myself. Very excited to see if as easy to use and as dependable as our EGO leaf blower. My 16-year old daughter and I easily opened the box and used a box cutter to remove one side panel so that we could unbox and then wheel out the unit. Inside, the unit was well-packaged and in perfect condition. Instruction manuals were provided but my daughter intuitively attached the blower arm to the base unit. We then wheeled the unit out of the box, with one of us holding the front operation panel until it could be secured to the base unit. Batteries are substantial in size and are easily dropped into the front compartment. Once the blower unit, operation panel, and batteries were installed, the unit was operable. We easily turned it on, moved the blower unit side to side and adjusted the top sprayer up and down. Reverse and forward functions are easy to switch back and forth, and compressing the handle triggers does not require excessive strength. Maneuvering the unit could be compared to steering a double-stroller or a floor sander. We anticipate that it will be easy to use and are actually excited for our first snow season in Northern Colorado.

On first impression, I'm giving a huge thumbs up on my EGO Power+ 24" self propelled 2 stage snowblower. The snowblower arrived well packaged and was easy to unbox and unpack. The assembly is quite simple and took under 10 minutes, I just needed to attach the chute and the handle assembly, with easy manipulate locking knobs.

I live in Southern Ontario, where we get a reasonable amount of snow - most of which is wet and heavy. This week we got ~20cm of snow and I was able to put this unit to the test: it handled the snow with aplomb! I never had to increase the auger speed above "eco" despite the weight of the snow -i tried to where the city plough had left the heavy stuff and it just wasn't necessary (and eats through the battery faster). This unit does come with a dual, fast charger and from empty to full the batteries took <2 hours. My driveway isn't huge (4 cars, plus a municipal sidewalk), but I was able to clear it entirely without the batteries dropping down at all (still showed 5/5 bars on both batteries). There are other reviews out there suggesting that the unit doesn't work - those fools don't read the manual. If you run it in "Turbo" mode for a 10-car driveway in heavy, wet snow, the batteries can get warm and the status light will blink orange until they cool. This is normal - just don't push it into Turbo unless you need to, but I can't imagine it would ever need that speed based on what it chewed through this week for me! I love the unit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!! While the price is high, the unit should last for a decade easily without any maintenance or abuse and that brings it to a very reasonable cost per annum. Very little maintenance and easy start every time. Electric is the way of the future!!
