Version A has a General Transmission-made self-propelling unit. Version B has a Chevron-made self-propelling unit.

The self-propelling unit can be found on the back axle of the mower. Turn the mower upside down. The Version A self-propelling unit will be stamped with "General Transmissions" on the surface of a black cover. The Version B self-propelling unit will not have a cover. The two versions of the self-propelling structure, including the self-propelling control PCBA and motor are not interchangeable.
