Very impressed with the solidness of the build and the overall features.HOWEVER, the marketing materials here on Amazon say it "extends for a total reach up to 13 feet (or 17 feet with EP1000 extension pole, sold separately)" in one place (in the About This Item section) and "extends for a total reach up to 16 feet" in another (in the From the Manufacturer section). Given that contradiction, I knew when I placed the order that the full extension might end up being the shorter of the two (13'), but I wasn't prepared for what happened when I received the product today and assembled it: When not extended, the tip-to-tip length is 7'10" and when fully extended 9'10" (so my headline above is being generous when I say "10 feet").I just called Ego customer service and the representative sounded baffled when I explained that I only got 2 extra feet from the extending action, and it's still over 3 feet short of the 13' promised (I've given up on the 16' promise ... went to Ego's own website and there you only see the 13'-17' wording, so not sure where 16' ever came from, maybe a model design that never made it to the manufacturing floor but the creator of their initial promotional materials didn't get that memo). Haven't heard back from them yet, but it was troubling that the representative seemed to have no clue what was going on.Bottom line: Great product IF you reduce your expectations and don't count on more than a 10-foot reach even when telescoped out. Of course, you can purchase the extra extension pole (EP1000) and get an extra 3.3 feet (at least, according to Ego's marketing materials), but that was clearly not supposed to be required to get the promised 13'.
