I need a hedge trimmer only about once a year to trim shrubs. I purchased this trimmer in mid-October, 2026. The hedge trimmer worked well and did a nice job with some holly bushes and rose of Sharon bushes. It is heavier than my old corded trimmer, at least partly due to having a longer blade, but I was able to reach the tops of the holly bushes, which are taller than I am. I should mention that I'm in my late 60s and in decent physical shape. The battery still retained most of its charge after I had trimmed three holly bushes and four rose of Sharon bushes. I liked not having to be careful about stepping on, or tripping over, an extension cord.

I'm reviewing the EGO Model 2601 kit that comes with the Model HT2600 hedge trimmer, BA1400T battery and CH2100 charger.
PROS:
Powerful.
Love the rotation feature for vertical cutting on left or right side.
Nice safety features.
CONS:
With the battery attached this unit weighs almost 10 lbs. I would give it 5 stars if they could reduce the total weight by 2 lbs. by offering a lighter battery even if the run time was shorter.

First hedge trimmer ever. Easy to handle, battery seems acceptable due to me being able to complete trimming without stopping for recharge. Does seem to not cut the cleanest but did the job. The bar is pretty long so was able to get all of bushes to top.

The ability to cut larger growth of bushes like butter was amazing to me

For the work I have to do around the house this trimmer works great. The trim work is not heavy or thick so it’s perfect for that and the battery life is just right.
