I do a lot of trimming on my 7 acres and in my small landscaping business.
While this trimmer is on the heavy side it does work very well. This replaces a gas Stihl model which is much heavier without the gas exhaust and pull string hassles.
Out of the box and setting up you can see and feel it is made very well with high quality materials.
Most of my trims have been less than 60 minutes of steady use. The 2.5 battery works well and is good for the quick jobs. The 5.0 is perfect for the longer more demanding jobs.
Trimmer cuts well and looks to be easily serviced for sharpening and lubing.
The articulating head is solid and is great for those tight spots or angles..
Simple to operate with 3 speeds with most work done on speed 2 depending on what I’m cutting. So far I am very happy with my purchase only time will tell more about longevity and reliability.
Working with this piece only took a short time to get comfortable with the balance and work flow. The grip on this trimmer is excellent and helps to maneuver the trimmer with a solid hold.
The one thing I would like to see EGO improve on is the shoulder strap I have 3 of them and they are all the same size. For this machine a longer one would be better for me I’m 6’1” with long arms and the supplied strap is too short.
This piece is part of my transition to electric and I am investing in Ego Power Plus equipment.
As with all E-quipment make sure you have plenty of spare batteries on hand.
